On the spiritual path, one requires allies. These allies can take on many forms, like spiritual prayer, meditation, a special friend…Any tool that supports our path is considered an ally. Zong
But of all of these allies, the plants are a source of strong, fortified wisdom and prosperity. By creating a deeper connection with the plants, we open ourselves up to their healing essence, and allow them to strengthen our spiritual barriers.
Our bodies are crafted in the essence of nature. We are tied to the rhythms of Earth because we are part of Nature. Connecting with plants helps to reconnect us to our origin, to the Earth, and to our own role within the natural world.
There are many sacred plants that can be grown in your own backyard to support your health and spiritual journey.
The connection you build with these plants when you grow and cultivate them yourself is deeply personal, and rooted in your own intentions. Taking the time to care for and honor each plant as it grows from vulnerable seed to beautiful plant allows us to support, nourish and honor the cycle of life, and the generosity of the Mother.
These wonderful plant allies can be grown all over the United States, and offer sacred healing in various ways:
- Basil, lavender, and chamomile are wonderful allies to turn to in times of stress or anxiety, as they provide deep relaxation and promote sleep.
-
Mint supports respiratory health, and opens the nasal passages welcoming the breath of life back into your lungs.
Rosemary improves circulation and protects the body from harmful toxins. - Dandelion supports kidney function, and detoxifies the liver.
- Lemonbalm eases indigestion, supports relaxation, and is a wonderful scent booster for the hair and skin.
There are hundreds of plant allies you can grow for yourself, and we recommend researching your local climate and the plants that thrive within it for more insight.
But how can one use the plant allies once they are fully grown? Again, there are many options to support your path with the plants.

These are three of our favorites, as they are simple yet powerful tools to turn to daily:
- Plant Baths can be crafted with any blend of healing plants. There is no set number of plants needed to create a healing plant bath, it simply depends on your spiritual and physical needs. You can purchase a pre-mixed plant bath blend, or create your own by boiling a selection of herbs and flowers to create the bath mixture.
- Homemade Herbal Infused Oils Soaps and Lotions are another great way to call upon plants to support you in your daily life. infuse the healing essences of plants into your daily life. We recommend unrefined sesame oil, olive oil, or coconut as a base. Simply choose the herbs that you want to work with (research their properties) and infuse about ½ cup of herbs per ½ liter of oil. Heat the oil on low for a few hours to do a gentle infusion. Then you will have your deliciously smelling herbal oil that you can use all over your body for massage, moisturization, and healing.
- Herbal teas are a wonderful ally to support physical health, particularly if you are struggling with digestive, detoxification, or circulatory issues. Bring your chosen herbal allies to a boil in fresh water, and allow their healing essence to steep for several minutes. Preserve the tea in a clean glass container, and drink it throughout the day whenever you need the support of the plant allies. Alternatively, you can make sun teas with fresh plants and receive the blessings from nature as your herbs activate and steep in the sunlight.
