  • A powerful tool for communing with our ancestors, and for special points on the medicine wheel (equinoxes and solstices)
  • Anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, making it a great natural medicine for use in body scrubs and soaps
  • An effective bug-repellent

For many Brazilian indigenous tribes, this smudging agent, also known as "sepá", is a central pillar to their ceremonial practices and spiritual cleansing. In situations of illness, interpersonal or community disputes, or an overall negative energy build-up, the first step usually involves burning Breu Branco to purify the atmosphere. The smoke of the Sepá is believed to carry their prayers and intentions.
While this resin is virtually unknown in the U.S., in Brazil it is often used by perfume and fragrance companies and can also be distilled as an essential oil. Also called Brazilian Frankincense, Breu Branco has been used by the peoples of the rainforest for centuries for its healing and protective properties.

Versatile in its uses, it works wonderfully in DIY body scrubs and homemade soaps.
