Palo Santo or “Holy Wood” is a sacred tree native to South America, used for purification and energetic cleansing. Four Visions’ delicious high-grade Palo Santo is ethically harvested, utilizing properly aged wood from trees that have already fallen, rather than cut prematurely. We have two sources for our palo santo. Our Peruvian Palo Santo comes from a Shipibo family in Peru, carrying out the traditional ways of their ancestors by making plant medicines in a harmonious way with the Earth. Our Ecuadorian Palo Santo comes from a farmer's collective dedicated to the sustainable harvesting and simultaneous reforestation of native palo santo trees. Check out the ingredient section for more information regarding the differences between our two sources.

Palo Santo or “Holy Wood” is a sacred tree native to South America. It is used to purify and cleanse energy, cultivate sweetness and spiritual connection.
Palo Santo provides an uplifting scent that raises your vibration in preparation for meditation and allows for a deeper connection to the Source of all Creation. It is also said that Palo Santo enhances creativity and brings good fortune to those who are open to its magic.
When using Four Visions’ Ethically Sourced Palo Santo you can be assured of:
Certified Ethical Origin: When done mindfully, the gathering of fallen Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) wood is a sustainable practice. When a tree grows old and dies of natural causes, it eventually falls to the forest floor. The tree then resides there for a number of years, untouched, allowing the rich oils within to refine with time, creating the pleasant aromas we experience with this precious wood!
Trees Are Never Cut: By following these strict guidelines, our collection practices support the conservation of existing dry forestlands. The Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) trade has helped to bring a much greater degree of awareness to these dry forestlands and their continued preservation efforts.
We support conservation + reforestation, just as you do when you align with ethically driven companies like Four Visions. These projects allow for the long-term sustainable management of the dry forest, as well as the ethical economic empowerment of the native communities who steward their native forestlands.
Working alongside Ecuadorian & Peruvian families who act as the gatekeepers of the Palo Santo dry forest, we help to bring these precious natural products from our native production partners to the rest of the world.
Our network of native community partners is comprised of stakeholders from all across the spectrum. We work with native communities who share our vision for a holistically integrated Palo Santo trade and whose actions are in alignment with this environmentally mindful ethos.
We plant new Palo Santo trees annually. Collectively, our source partners plant hundreds of palo santo trees each year and protect and care for tens of thousands of living thriving palo santo trees, in order to help conserve the biodiversity of the dry forest & to prevent harm caused from illegal poachers & human-influenced environmental degradation. We are offering real solutions to the issues that exist in the marketplace today & we actively play our role in ensuring the conservation of our earth’s natural habitats for future generations through our mindful actions as a socially responsible, positive- impact business.
Light one stick with prayer and intention and use it to bless your space, yourself, your altar, or your sacred objects. A wonderful compliment to your prayer and meditation practice.

Ethically Harvested Palo Santo Wood.
Origin: Peru & Ecuador
As with many natural products, one can experience subtle differences when utilizing materials of different geographical origin. Just as coffee beans from different parts of the world can vary in their end-product, Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) trees also vary in their aromatic nuances depending on their particular geo-regional source. At the most fundamental level, our Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) wood of Ecuadorian-origin is slightly more petite in size & rounded in shape, with "sweeter" notes of cinnamon, vanilla, & coconut. Our Peruvian-origin is slightly larger in size & and more rectangular in shape, with the "spicier" notes of citrus, mint, and diesel. Both can exhibit aromatic notes of the other, depending on the particular pieces of wood.
They are both very lovely & are simply two different varietals of our beloved Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) wood.
