Would you like to make your own sananga? Making plant remedies is a complete ceremony, full of ritual and connection with Creation & the wisdom of the plants. It’s a beautiful thing to make your own sananga, in the evening time with your prayers and songs of blessing, under the new moon or full moon. We decided to offer the opportunity to you by acquiring some fresh sananga root powder from the Kuntanawa Tribe. This particular sananga is meant to cleanse the body and spirit, and at the same time help you to look at the world from a perspective of wisdom, seeing your life with clear vision. It also carries the prayer to help you remember your inherent connection with nature.
Making your own sananga is simple. If you have 1/4 oz of powdered sananga, add 1.5 oz of distilled water. If you have 1/2 oz of powdered sananga, add 3 oz of distilled water. Mix the ground Sananga with distilled water and bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer for about 15 minutes, adding more water if necessary so that it does not burn. Let the mixture sit under the moonlight and strain it in the morning so it receives the potency of the nighttime. To strain, we recommend using a cheesecloth or pillowcase fabric to separate the powder from the liquid. Bottle the liquid into your dropper and voila- your homemade Sananga is ready for use.
We recommend working with sananga once or twice per week or more if presented with a chronic illness of eyes or vision. There is a traditional diet of the Sananga which utilizes the drops every day for 21 days straight. If you plan to use it intensively, make sure to take 2 weeks off in between these three week “diets” in order to give your eyes time to integrate. If you love sananga, you will LOVE this experience of medicine making, and it will bring you into deeper alliance and relationship with the plant.
