Artisanally made by an Indigenous Atacama family who have generationally passed down the art of ceramics as a way to preserve and honor their ancestral traditions.
The Atacama people, also called Atacameño, are an Indigenous people from the Atacama Desert and altiplano region in the north of Chile and Argentina and southern Bolivia, mainly the Antofagasta Region.
This ceramic piece was created and made completely by hand using ancient technologies. Each piece is handmade using locally sourced clay, with conscience, oration, respect and honor to the sacred traditions.
